What’s a hybrid car?

A vehicle that combines two or more sources of power to generate momentum is referred to as a hybrid car. Generally, hybrid SUVs or hybrid cars are a combination of a diesel and a gasoline engine with an electric motor. The powering unit is composed of a gas tank, a diesel and / or a gasoline engine and batteries to power the electric motor. The engines of such hybrid cars are small and efficient and they are boosted by the electric motor when more power or momentum is required.

A computer, onboard, works continuously to achieve optimum levels of performance between the gasoline / diesel engine and the electric motor. Very few people can actually notice if you are driving a hybrid since they look very much like their conventional cousins.

Kia Motors and their big renovation plan

In their attempt to boost vehicle sale, Kia has come up with a new makeover plan. They are willing to invest all that’s needed to upgrade dealerships and make them attractive in order to draw more crowds. They have set aside a budget in order to aid their dealers build or modernize existing stores.

This is an attempt to improve their unstable reputation as they are getting ready to launch several new automobiles and obviously need to work out a larger sales target. As such, the renovations are intended to modify and decorate stores and better facilities so that sales do not suffer. As of now, at least 150 dealers expressed their confidence in the renovation program.

Car Safety

Over the last decade and the current one the consumerism revolution has forced the manufacturers to have a serous thought to car safety. New generation technologies like air bags, anti lock brakes and stability management car systems are now a standard feature against what used to be a luxurious choice. Like every new technology, they were introduced to the higher end of the spectrum which then gradually trickled down the pyramid to cover all segments.

What is that makes your car safe?

There are basically two types of car safety systems. The first are referred to as the active safety systems. The devices in the active safety systems are designed to keep the occupants of the car out to trouble and avoid accidents. Anti lock brakes, stability management and traction control are part of this group.

The second set of systems is referred to as the passive safety systems. They execute their part of the role if the car meets with an accident. Air bags, anti crash designs, crumple zones and seat belts form the passive safety system group.

The root of safety also lies in the car design and structure. High grade tough steel helps in reducing the impact of collision in an accident. A smart and safe design will distribute the force of the impact around the car rather than introducing it into the passenger compartment.

But, even a safe car is useless if it’s driven unsafe drivers. Reckless driving has been the main cause of accidents all over the world. An alert driver only can make the safety systems count for themselves.
