The Chevrolet Beat first arrived at the New York International Auto Show in 2007. The car was designed at the GM’s South Korean studio and its running prototype is manufactured in India. Its engine displacement is compact, small and eco-friendly. And, apart from the petrol versions, there is a LPG version too these days.
The car gives 18.6 kmpl on highways and for cities the mileage is 15kmpl. The model is powered with a sixteen valve DOHC (Double Over Head Camshaft) which churns out great power and also a torque of around 79bhp at around 6200 rpm, 108nm at around 4400 mm. It’s a small car and is a good performer if you do not cross 60kmph.
Finally the car is armed with special features such as an automatic temperature regulator and rear spoiler which are integrated to deliver a balanced drive and super fuel efficiency. The traditional rear and front suspension offers a comfortable ride and smooth handling.

A review of Volvo B5L Hybrid

The environment, especially climatic changes in a major concern and in a bid to contribute towards making the environment greener Volvo has launched their brand new B5L Hybrid. This new generation eco-friendly double deck buses made a memorable debut recently and it is an important step to reduce the consumption of fuel and thereby decrease the carbon dioxide emission.
Hybrid technology combining energy from two different sources of power has been in existence for a pretty long time but this is the very first time that it has been made viable commercially. Six Volvo B5L Hybrid buses have just entered the service on London’s Route 141 and the historic occasion was formally marked.
The test track evidences have proved that these buses will save 30% fuel consumption and reduce emission of CO2 and will also reduce Nitrous Oxide and other harmful particulates. Exhaust emission will be reduced by 50% and noise level too, will be lowered. The launch of Volvo B5L Hybrid buses is a generation shift and is here to stay.

The stunning new BMW-7 series has finally been launched. It comes in 4 new design platforms-the E65, the E66, the E67 and the E68. These mean machines have now been re-designed and they run on the latest technology of automatic transmission.
In the year 2007, BMW released 7 new models. They were more or less based on the same kind of technology with a light modification here and there but each car was unique in its own way. The new model of the BMW 760Li was released in the year 2009 and it boasts of having a speed which can go from zero to 62 miles per hour in a matter of 5 seconds. It works on the powerful V12 engine technology with a staggering horsepower of 544.
Some other cars of this series were the 740i, 740d, 730d, 725tds, 725tds, 750i, F02 and the F01. The latest 2010 models work on a combo of the iDrive system so they are highly efficient.

Land Rover LR4

The Land Rover LR4 is a fourth generation model and has a refined look. Its center stack has been completely redone and has fewer buttons compared to the LR3. With fewer buttons, most of the functions are now available on the touchscreen. Its touchscreen is more intuitive than other systems in the market but it requires a little more integration. This model also has 5 exterior cameras and a Surround Camera System that gives a bird’s eye view of the car. The images from the cameras are displayed on the touchscreen with customizable views.
The car has a 5.0 liter V8 engine with 375 horsepower and 375 torque. Its 6-speed automatic transmission provides a better off road driving performance. It has the same suspension used for the Range Rover Sport therefore its feel is more planted. The Nissan Altima Hybrid is lean and runs clean but it is not your ordinary hybrid car. This is because it looks and performs like the traditional midsize sedan. It comes with a Nissan engine and continuously variable transmission. It only comes in a single trim level and the standard features include keyless entry and ignition, climate control, 16 inch alloy wheels and 6-speaker sound system.
This model comes with a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower. It also has an electric motor with 40 horsepower and 199 torque. Its electric and gasoline power plants can either work separately or together depending on the driving conditions. The safety features include traction control, antilock disc brakes, airbags and head restraints.
Its interior design includes a roomy cabin and comes with large compartments and several bins. Its front seats are well designed and provide adequate comfort and support. The Nissan Altima Hybrid has a battery pack that takes a lot of space and this limits its cargo space.
